Last updated: January 14, 2026
Summary: TabSearch does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. All functionality operates entirely on your local device.
Overview
TabSearch is a browser extension designed to help you search, organize, and manage your browser tabs. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains our data practices.

Local Storage
TabSearch stores minimal data locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local). This includes:

This data:
- Never leaves your device
- Is not transmitted to any server
- Is not accessible to us or any third party
- Can be cleared at any time via the extension's settings page
Permissions
TabSearch requests the following browser permissions, used solely for local functionality:
- tabs: To read tab titles, URLs, and favicons for search and display purposes
- storage: To save tab timestamps and user preferences locally
- alarms: To periodically update the badge count and check for old tabs
- notifications: To optionally alert you about old tabs (can be disabled in settings)
Third-Party Services
TabSearch does not use any third-party services, APIs, or analytics platforms. The extension makes zero network requests.
